Indie developer Poncle has announced that the Version 1.14 update for the popular roguelike shoot ’em up title Vampire Survivors will finally add online co-op, along with some other new features. Fans of the 2022 hit will want to tune in for more information in the coming weeks, as the upcoming Vampire Survivors patch is shaping up to potentially be one of the largest on record.
Vampire Survivors became an instant hit for solo developer Poncle, real name Luca Galante, in 2022, with the PC title quickly making its way to consoles and mobile devices and currently boasting an average score of 88 on OpenCritic. Galante has continued to polish the title while also introducing new content, with an Among Us-inspired expansion released in 2023 and a massively popular Castlevania DLC dropping in October 2024. In early 2025, Poncle noted that larger free updates for Vampire Survivors were on the way, with cross-save functionality finally being added earlier this year. Now, it looks like even more features are fresh content are on the way.
Vampire Survivors Version 1.14 Update Adding Online Co-Op for up to Four Players
In a new trailer, Poncle has revealed that the Version 1.14 update for Vampire Survivors would be adding several new features, including online co-op for up to four players. It’s unclear what else will be coming to the roguelike title, and fans will need to keep an eye on the developer in the coming weeks, as four more major features are being teased. Recently, players have begun speculating about what Vampire Survivors‘ next DLC will entail, following the well-received Emerald Diorama expansion in April. The release date for Version 1.14 has not been confirmed.
Following the continued success of Vampire Survivors, it was confirmed in Fall 2024 that Poncle would launch its own publishing arm with a focus on funding smaller passion projects. Going forward, the small studio aims to offer funding, development advice, platform support, release management, QA, and more for its developers, while also clarifying that any AI or Web3-related titles would be instantly denied.
Despite being a smaller indie title, the ever-popular Vampire Survivors is slated to hit the big screen in the future, as a movie project was greenlit in early 2025. Story Kitchen, known for its work on video game adaptations for TV and film, has signed on to produce the live-action film, which was initially announced as an animated TV series. It’s unclear when this project will see the light of day, and according to Poncle, the team is taking its time to “get things right.”
